In 1997 the Shriners met in St. Louis and experienced a larger than normal attendance because of the central national location, easy access and the many “tourist” related activities and venues in the metropolitan area. Since that time, there are eight new hotels downtown, the new Busch Stadium, and new developments of residences, shops, restaurants and casinos.  We expect similar participation in 2008.  All Shriner hotels are within the downtown core of the city. The majority are within easy walking distance of America’s Center and the three headquarters hotels are directly across the street. All convention activities will take place either in the Center or headquarters hotels, affording the merchant maximum exposure to approximately 20,000 potential customers.
